Valentines Crafts for Kids

Making valentines crafts for kids doesn’t have to be extravagant. There are a lot of things that you could do out of simple or even recycled materials. All you have to invest on are creativity and imagination.

Start making valentines crafts for kids by showing them finished crafts. After choosing which to make, gather the materials needed for the activity. If still undecided or if they have too many choices, you might want to decide on a couple of suggestions below.

Heart Wreaths

Materials:
Art papers (color red and pink)
Paper plate
Short piece of yarn
Scissors
Glue

Procedures:

Step 1: Cut out the inner circle of the paper plate. Keep the one with the hole to be the outline of your wreath.

Step 2: Cut out different sizes of hearts and flowers from the art papers. You could also help the kids to draw and cut out cupid outlines.

Step 3: Let the kids arrange the shapes around the paper plate. Assist them to glue the shapes according to their arrangements. Let the wreath dry.

Step 4: Attach the short piece of yarn at the back. This will be used to hang the wreath on the wall.

Love Box (for keepsakes)

Materials:
Shoe box
Old colored magazines
Ribbons or yarns
Art papers or gift wrappers (color red or pink)
Other art materials (beads or glitters)
Scissors
Glue

Procedures:

Step 1: Ask the kids to choose and cut pictures from the magazines that symbolize love.

Step 2: Cover the box with the wrapper as base. Then ask them to arrange and glue the pictures on the box as well. Be sure that the images are not too crowded.

Step 3: Glue the ribbon around the box’s cover. Use other materials to personalize or add decorations to their love box.

There are other valentines crafts for kids which can be materialized from recycled items. Instead of throwing out everything that seems useless, check again and see how else it can be used. Teach the kids how to recycle, to be creative and to appreciate more of their surroundings.
