Thanksgiving Craft Decorations
All Americans celebrate Thanksgiving and perform holiday rituals, including the most popular Thanksgiving dinner. Every family gets together for dinner every year.
What about adding some life to your annual dinner by doing a little family thanksgiving activity? Huddle your family members in making Thanksgiving craft decorations.
Do this activity a few days before Thanksgiving dinner so that each member can have enough time to think about this.
One of the best Thanksgiving craft decorations is something that is not only an ornament in your house but can have some significance as well. This decoration that your family can enjoy is the “Thanksgiving Thankful Placemat”. You will need to get the following things:
· Plain fabric that fits the family table
· Colored Permanent Markers
· Pictures, photos and other clips
· Fabric paint and other coloring materials for fabric
· Clear plastic for cover (optional)
Days before the dinner, have your family members remember and list down all the things that they are thankful for the past whole year. Prepare “Thank You messages” for your other family members.
When ready, spread the fabric on the floor or table. With the rest of the family, write down the thank you list on the fabric. Don’t just write and list them down.
Be creative! Use colored permanent markers to write in different cool writing designs. Use the pictures and photos to illustrate the things that you are thankful for.
Don’t forget to write your “Thank You Messages” down.
Before dinner, call the family together in the living room. Each family member has to present his or her list and Thank You Messages. Crying is allowed.
When each member is done, set the fabric as table cloth on your dinner table. If the family table has a glass top, place the fabric under the glass. If none, use the plastic as cover.
