Whether you are in school or at your own home, kids would be excited to work on different crafts that they could make for this occasion. They would also expect celebrations and gifts so might as well be prepared with different options to have fun with your kids during this day.

One of the St. Patricks day crafts for kids that we would be making is a basket of gold. It’s your option to have a template or image of the “basket of gold” for your kids to have a fixed idea of what you are to do.

Materials needed:
Baskets with handle
Yarns/ribbons (colors based on the rainbow)
Art papers (construction papers, gift wrappers)
Cardboards
Additional art materials of you choice
Pen
Scissors
Adhesives (glue or tapes)

The first thing that you should do is to find all the materials within your home. Look for baskets that were used from the last holidays.

If you can’t find one, then take a visit at a thrift store near you and buy something simple. For the chocolate gold coins, there are also cheap ones in packs at the grocery or a sweets shop near you. When all materials are complete, gather them all in a working place and call the kids.

Procedure:

Step 1: Cut the cardboard into a strip. It should be wide and long enough for the handle. Let the kids glue the yarns or ribbons on the cardboard according to the rainbow colors. When this is done, bond the back of the cardboard to the handle to make a rainbow handle.

Step 2: Spread a sheet of art paper and let the kids draw different sizes of shamrocks. Cut out the shamrocks and glue them around the basket. You could also glue other materials like beads or glitters and layer them with the shamrocks.

Step 3: Fill in the basket with the chocolate gold coins.

And now you’re done with your St. Patricks day crafts for kids. This could be a gift to the teacher or a decoration at home. You could also invite other children over and enjoy with them the basket of chocolates.
